Resurrection Day

Today, Joel Jaroch decided to dedicate his life to God, being baptized for the remission of his sins.  His father took his confession after an emotional charge to the family at Northwest Tampa to continue being the influence for young people today. I was so moved by his words.

Joel embracing his father, Mike, as he begins a new life as a Christian.

All the children came in from children’s worship time to witness the joyous event!!

Quaker “Steak” and Lube

Today I met a dear friend, Terry Reeves, for lunch. He told me “hey I know this great wings place…”

Quaker Steak and Lube, while not a place I would have ever chosen on my own, in a word, AMAZING!

Thanks for lunch Terry. It was great. And it was great to see you again!  Looking forward to many more lunches in the future!

Sunrise…Sunset

I’ve heard about the Tampa sunsets. I know the setting isn’t the prettiest, but I’m starting to see what the fuss is all about. (And no, I was not driving!)

Happiness is…

Moving to a new town and finding the local Mexican food dive, and it’s good. Here’s to Mexican food, Tampa!

Promises

In the bible, a rainbow appeared to Noah after the ark settled and they had reached dry land, to signify God’s promise to never flood the earth again.

Because of that, many today believe that the rainbow still holds that meaning.  A promise from God.

When we see a rainbow, at least in our family, it gives us great comfort and signifies to us that God loves us and is watching out for us. It reminds us that He is present.

May God be present in your life.

I love Sundays

Blessed to be a part of this wonderful church family.

TELEVANGELSIST CREFLO DOLLAR SEEKS PRIVATE JET

Okay, I get it.  You need to travel.  It’d be nice to have your own plane.  It’d be nice to not have to go through all the hassle of flying commercial.

No, wait.  I don’t get it.  We live in a world where I can literally be anywhere within 24 hours.  And I can do it all for much less than $60million and change.

This story makes me sick.  Here’s how it should have read:

TELEVANGELIST SEEKS TOP DOLLAR DONATIONS TO _________________

What goes in the blank?  Anything but a private jet.

– Feed the poor

– Dig wells for clean water in Africa

– Find forever families for foster and orphan children

– Eliminate human sex trafficking

The list could go on and on.  But instead he chose a private jet.  I kept waiting to see if this was on a spoof/satirical website.  But it wasn’t.

Christians, no humble servant of God will ever ask you for $67million to buy a private jet.  Please, don’t support it.  Instead, choose to support a real ministry like the ones I mentioned above, or numerous other great efforts.

Throwback Thursday

In honor of Apple releasing a new item – their smart watch – I thought I’d post a pic today of my journey to the land of China, and the Apple Store in Shanghai.

What are your thoughts on the Apple Watch?
